Originally from Dracut Massachusetts, Roseann Sdoia Materia graduated from the University of Lowell, Massachusetts, now known as UMass Lowell, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business in 1991.
Since then, Roseann has spent more than 25 years within the real estate industry. Over the course of time, she has worked for R&B Realty Group based out of Los Angeles California, Corcoran Management Company, Braintree, Massachusetts, and from 2003 until 2014, she was Senior Vice President of Residential Properties for National Development Asset Management, Newton Massachusetts. Within her last role, she was responsible for working with the development team through design of and all the way through lease-up and thereafter of just over 1100 apartment homes within the Boston metro area.
Since April 15, 2013, her life has changed dramatically. As of today, as a Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor and amputee, Roseann is making great strides in changing the lives of others. As one of the top motivational speakers and more recently a published author of Perfect Strangers, Roseann combines her powerful, personal story of perseverance with her professional corporate background and offers lessons learned throughout her challenging comeback journey as insightful, motivational tools that everyone can use to discover their own unstoppable strength. Roseann’s mantra that “life is only as positive as you make it,” serves as the foundation for redefining one’s own mindset in achieving every personal and professional goal, and ultimately living a happier, richer and more fulfilling life.
