Join us for our Women in Conversation at the hip Towne Stove and Spirits with its panoramic view of Boylston Street, Back Bay.

Our moderator, Katy Tynan, a professional speaker, author and consultant, will lead a conversation about working as a solopreneur. Katy is the leading expert in the evolution of work and has written several books on the topic. She will lead a panel of independent professional women as they talk about how they got started, how they manage the challenges of working independently, and how they created a successful niche.  Also attending will be Exhale’s health editor Karen Miller, Ph.D, who can answer questions you may have about how Massachusetts Health Insurance works for small businesses and independent contractors (solopreneurs).

Panelist: Carolina Tejedor, MBA

Carolina is a mother of a pre-teen and a teen, has her MBA and is the former owner of Caramelo Clothing Co., Boston Magazine’s best men’s clothing store in 2014.  She has a  deep love for the creativity and resourcefulness of small businesses and start-ups and formed her own consultancy to help them reach their potential.

Carolyn Stuart, Owner C2Body

Carolyn Stuart is co-founder of C2Body with best friend, CC Martin.  Carolyn began her career as a pilates instructor at various fitness centers in Boston.  She turned her passion for fitness and wellness into a business enterprise with multiple locations in the Greater Boston area.  She did this while also dealing with the death of her husband and raising two young daughters.

Shannon O’Brien, Owner Whole U

After working 7 years at Harvard and MIT, Shannon O’Brien left academia to start her own career and life strategy consultancy (called Whole U.) She helps clients find new opportunities, joy and fulfillment, while achieving career and life goals. Shannon received an M.A. as a Rotary World Peace Fellow in Tokyo, Japan and an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation & Education from Harvard University.

Claritza Abreu, Ceo of LatInc Corporation

Claritza Abreu is the CEO of LatInc Corporation, an information technology company  that leverages technology to advance and engage communities. Previous to these posts, Claritza held several Sr. IT executive positions at very prestigious organizations in the government, non-profit and private sectors.

Claritza, a serial entrepreneur, has always been passionate about community service: she devotes a significant amount of time supporting public health research, STEM education, mentorship, and social causes.
